Why Use Conditional Formatting?
Conditional formatting allows admins to:
Highlight key data points.
Make essential information visually intuitive.
Enable users to make faster, data-driven decisions.
How to Enhance User Experience with Conditional Formatting in Lightning App Builder
Conditional formatting in Salesforce relies on rulesets, collections of conditions that define when and how the formatting is applied. These rules can be based on:
The field’s own value.
The values of other fields on the page.
Using colors, icons, and more, you can draw attention to important data dynamically.
Setting Up Conditional Formatting on Your Record Fields
Access Your Record Page: Navigate to your Dynamic Forms-enabled record page in Lightning App Builder.
Select the Field: On the page canvas, click the field you want to apply conditional formatting to.
Use the Conditional Formatting Property : In the property panel on the right, look for Conditional Formatting. Here, you can assign or create a ruleset to define your conditions.
Managing Rulesets in Lightning App Builder
From within Lightning App Builder, you can easily manage your rulesets by selecting:
Edit Ruleset: Modify existing rulesets.
Conditional Field Formatting Node in Object Manager: Manage all rulesets for different objects.
Note: Deleting rulesets is available, but renaming them is on the roadmap.
Examples of Conditional Formatting in Action
Dynamic Highlights Panel: Show an icon when an opportunity’s stage changes to “Closed Won.”
Field-Based Rules: Change the color of an “Overdue” field to red if the due date has passed.
Conculsion
Conditional formatting is a powerful tool in Salesforce, enhancing user productivity by bringing important data into focus. The upcoming roadmap includes further features to refine this functionality, making it an exciting time to leverage Dynamic Forms.
