What is Bundles?
In Salesforce CPQ, a bundle refers to a group of products that are sold together as a package. This concept is particularly useful when certain products are often purchased together or when a main product requires additional components to function correctly.
Key Characteristics of Bundles:
Group of Products: A bundle includes multiple related products that are combined into a single package.
Simplifies the Sales Process: Bundles streamline quoting by allowing sales reps to add a pre-defined set of products to a quote, rather than selecting each item individually.
Ensures Compatibility: By grouping compatible products together, bundles reduce the risk of selling incompatible items.
Customization: Some bundles allow customization, enabling customers to choose specific options or features within the bundle.
Types of Bundles:
Static Bundle: A fixed set of products that cannot be altered (e.g., a pre-configured computer system).
Configurable Bundle: Allows customization of the bundle's contents, with certain limitations (e.g., a smartphone with optional accessories).
Nested Bundle: A bundle that contains another bundle within it (e.g., a laptop bundle that includes a software bundle).
Example:
If you're selling a computer, a bundle might include the computer itself, a monitor, a keyboard, and a mouse. This bundle can be either static (no changes allowed) or configurable (where the customer can choose the monitor size or type of keyboard).
